After Therapy`

So the team building is over. It was good. We took all the personality profiles for the team and discovered how different personalities react to different things. It was quite enlightening and fun. My staff came up with an action plan and I think I got the results I was trying to achieve.

And the fun part is that we are trying to guess other's DiSC classification. Ok so we aren't experts, but it can make a lot of sense in dealing with the business relationships.

I am still working on the ultimate challenge. Compensating for my deficiencies. Today I was kind of moody in the morning, so I stayed away from the bubbly people until I tamed the Bear. That is what animal we came up with in the Team Building to represent me, a bear. Big and Soft and Cuddly until you get him pissed off or he just wants his own way... My staff agreed.

Can't spend too much time blogging tonight, it's Sweetpea's birthday so I. I'm out of here.

A big cuddly bear huh? It's amazing how perceptive those personality tests can be. Especially the ones that ask a very few questions. I did one that had four questions and pegged me perfectly.

Anyway, tell SweatPea happy birthday for me.

I guess I'm surprised they have to guess each others DISC type. I thought the whole idea was to KNOW what each other are so that you can communicate with them better and understand why they tick they way they tick.

The woman who gave me my MB test put it to me this way: corporations use it in team building so that they can apply the "platinum rule" (which is better then the golden rule) "Do on to others as they would have you do on to them" -- in other words don't communicate with me the way you would want to be communicated with, communicate with me the way I want to be communicated with.

I've seen both sides of your bare (whoops, I mean bear!) and I think that's a great annalogy for you. Bares are cool (oops - I did it again!)

The seven of us in the Session did know what the all of our profiles are. That was the basis for the work, how to better work with different profiles.

We have been guessing others at work that are not in my department.
